Issues Paper on proposed transfer of TIC to TASCAT

24 Apr 2026 3:44 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

The Tasmanian Government has made a proposal to transfer the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) into the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (TASCAT).

To understand the implications of this proposal, the Industrial Relations Society of Tasmania (IRST) engaged independent consultant, Michelle Swallow of Leadership and Change Consultants Pty Ltd, to consult with a wide range of its members, including unions, employer representatives, former Commissioners, legal practitioners, academics, public servants, and independent experts.

A survey of IRST members was also carried out. Thank you to those members who contributed their time to the consultation on this important topic.

Please find a link below to read the resulting paper produced by Michelle Swallow.
